Historia

Florida State University ha estado en Panamá desde el año 1957 y es la segunda universidad más antigua del país. El campus está ubicado en Ciudad del Saber, un área especial para instituciones académicas y de investigación situado entre el Canal de Panamá y el Parque nacional Camino de Cruces. Florida State University Panamá es una filial del campus principal en Tallahassee, Florida, cuyo programa académico está acreditado por en Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Florida State University ofrece más de 80 licenciaturas, todas pueden ser iniciadas en nuestro campus en Panamá y completadas en nuestro campus principal en Tallahassee, Florida. Además, ofrecemos 4 licenciaturas que pueden ser completadas en su totalidad en Panamá, que son:

  • Ciencias de la Computación
  • Asuntos Internacionales
  • Programa Interdisciplinario en Ciencias Sociales
  • Estudios latinoamericanos y del Caribe
  • y la Maestría en Asuntos Internacionales

Los estudiantes ciudadanos de Latinoamérica y del Caribe son elegibles para nuestro programa de “Beca 2+2”, que consiste en iniciar sus estudios de licenciatura por 2 años en Panamá y completarlos estudiando 2 años en Florida, pagando como residente del estado de la Florida. (Nota: Sólo ciudadanos de los países elegibles.)

FOR NON U.S. CITIZEN
Freshman Applicants

Freshman applicants can apply online through our application system. They must submit the following documents along with their application:

  • Official transcripts of the last four years of high school
  • Copy of high school diploma
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS scores
  • Official SAT or ACT scores

Transfer Applicants

In addition to the freshman admission requirements, transfer applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Official transcripts from each college and/or university attended (if in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by a certified English translation).
  • Official course-by-course evaluation of all academic records from each non-U.S. college and/or university attended (no transfer credit from non-U.S. universities will be awarded unless an evaluation has been submitted). We recommend using any of the evaluating agencies listed in www.naces.org or ies.aacrao.org.

The undergraduate application has a fee of 100.00 US Dollars which must be paid to the university within three weeks of the date of the application.



FOR U.S. CITIZEN

U.S. citizens who wish to be admitted in FSU Panama must contact the office of International Programs (www.international.fsu.edu) unless one of the following exceptions applies:

  • They have lived in Panama for a full twelve months or longer prior to application.
  • They are citizens or legal residents of the Republic of Panama.
  • They have close family members (i.e. spouse, parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle) who are citizens or legal residents of Panama and are currently living in Panama.
  • They are non-traditional students and/or are 26 years or older by the beginning of the term for which they are seeking admission.
  • They are military dependents as determined by the Office of Veteran Affairs at Florida State University.

Freshman Applicants

* Letters of recommendation are not required and will not be taken into consideration in the evaluation process.
